Washington, DC – Delphos International Ltd., a specialist in raising debt and equity from development finance institutions (DFIs), export credit agencies (ECAs) and other government entities focused on emerging markets, is pleased to appoint Mr. Robert W. van Zwieten as Chair for Asia-Pacific on its

Advisory Board.

Robert is the Managing Director Asia-Pacific for Convergence, the global non-profit network for blended finance, founded in 2016 with a mission to mainstream blended finance as a strategic approach to achieve the U.N. Sustainable Development Goals. Blended finance is the strategic use of catalytic capital from public or philanthropic sources to increase private sector investment in sustainable development. It has mobilized approximately $140 billion to-date based on Convergence data.

Robert is also the founder and CEO of The Serendra Group, a boutique advisory firm helping CEOs build profitable and sustainable businesses, and was the President and CEO of EMPEA, the global industry association for emerging markets private capital. Prior to this, he served as Director of the Private Sector Capital Markets Division at the Asian Development Bank, following a global career in senior leadership positions at financial services firms such as ABN AMRO Bank, GE Capital, GE Energy, Lehman Brothers and Singapore Exchange. He has spent most of his career in Asia.

Throughout his professional journey, Robert has been active in numerous civil society organizations. Robert is a current Board member and past Chairman of Music for Life International, a New York-based social enterprise, which seeks to create social transformation through music. He is a past Trustee of International House in New York, a past term member at the World Economic Forum’s Global Council on Long Term Investing, Infrastructure & Development, and a past Chairman of the Development Council and Member of the Advisory Board with Doctors Without Borders, amongst others.

Born in the Netherlands and now dividing his time between the United States and Asia, he earned his MBA from the University of Chicago Booth School of Business, holds JD and MA degrees from Leiden University in the Netherlands, and an LL.M. degree from Columbia University School of Law.
