December 2011

Delphos won an international tender from Ghana Grid Company (GRIDCo), Ghana’s private transmission utility company, to lead an advisory team of engineering, financial, economic, regulatory, and environmental experts to assess the feasibility of two new 161 kV transmission lines stretching more than 200 miles in Ghana. Under this USTDA-funded study, Delphos is leading the financial analysis and will conduct managerial training workshops for local personnel.

November 2011

Delphos arranged a $150 million senior loan commitment from OPIC to support Applied Solar Technologies’ rollout of hybrid solar energy solutions for cellular phone towers in India.

October 2011

Delphos and a consortium of financial, technical, regulatory/legal, and environmental experts won an international tender from the Government of Morocco’s National Agency for the Development of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency (ADEREE) to complete a USTDA-funded feasibility study assessing the implementation of a 5 MW solar PV plant in Essaouira, Morocco.

April 2011

Delphos assisted Wananchi Group (Holdings) Ltd. in closing $57.5 million of new funding to support additional network expansion of the Company’s triple-play and satellite TV services in East Africa. Under its “Zuku” brand, Wananchi Group is developing the Africa’s first triple-play network and provides fast and competitively priced broadband internet, TV and fixed line telephone. New investors included, among others, Liberty Global, Sarona Asset Management and Oppenheimer Funds.

March 2011

Delphos arranged $50 million (50% of total project costs) in long-term senior debt from OPIC to support Summit Hotels Limited’s (Summit) construction of a 300-room, first-class business hotel in the International Zone of Baghdad, Iraq. In addition, Delphos assisted Summit’s U.S. and Iraqi owners in obtaining political risk insurance through a reinsurance agreement between OPIC and an Iraqi insurance company.
